Innocent Mind & Mayday | Alto Flute Concerto by Peter Bruun

Innocent Mind & Mayday

Alto Flute Concerto

written for Hélène Navasse

by Peter Bruun

About the work

Innocent Mind / Mayday is a contemporary concerto for alto flute and ensemble exploring fragile sonic states, breath, resistance, and transformation of sound.

Developed in close collaboration with composer Peter Bruun, the work unfolds through evolving textures where gesture, acoustics, and instrumental colour merge into a continuously shifting musical structure.

The concerto forms part of a long-term collaboration between Peter Bruun and Hélène Navasse as well as Navasse’s ongoing exploration of contemporary alto flute repertoire and flute-family performance practice.

Composer: Peter Bruun
“a concert lit by the Dane Peter Bruun’s four little rites of spring, a pungent new suite called Innocent Mind and Mayday.”
