I learned to know Hélène Navasse in January 2016… When she performed some of my central chamber music works with soloistic flute parts, such as Terrestre and Sombre, it seemed as if we would have known each other for a long time already – in any case her virtuosic interpretations of my music were so sovereign and natural, that it was difficult to believe that she played it for the first time…

I have had the pleasure of knowing Hélène Navasse for nearly 20 years and have regularly collaborated with her in performances of my chamber, ensemble, and orchestral works. Beyond our collaborations, I have experienced her artistry at countless concerts and regard her as Denmark’s foremost flutist in the realm of contemporary music in all its diverse expressions.

Hélène Navasse is recognized as one of the most significant musicians and performers within contemporary music in Denmark. With great energy, commitment, and talent, she has premiered a large number of new works and has thus been one of the most important catalysts for new experimental music and a huge inspiration to all of us composers who are lining up to have our music performed by her.
