Deeply rooted in the French classical tradition, <\/span>flutist H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Navasse<\/strong> began her musical training in France under the guidance\n of Jean Etienne, C\u00e9line Nessi and <\/span>Pierre-Yves Artaud, before continuing her studies with Harrie Starreveld\n
in the soloclass at Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam, where she graduated cum laude<\/em> with first prize in flute. She later specialized in orchestral performance, chamber music and contemporary repertoire in\n Amsterdam, and holds furthermore the highest diploma from the Royal Danish Academy of Music.<\/p>\n

At just 18, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne joined Ensemble Polychromie, a Lille-based French ensemble dedicated to new music, marking the beginning of her lifelong engagement with contemporary repertoire. H\u00e9l\u00e8ne was later appointed Associate Principal\n Flutist of the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> (DK).\n
Since 2016, she has been a member of Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen<\/strong>, Denmark\u2019s leading ensemble for new music. \n

Described by composer Bent S\u00f8rensen as <\/span>\u201cone of the most important catalysts for new experimental music and a tremendous inspiration to all of us composers\u201d<\/em>,\n H\u00e9l\u00e8ne has collaborated with leading composers such as Kaija Saariaho, David Lang, Simon Steen-Andersen, B\u00e1ra G\u00edsladottir, Bent S\u00f8rensen <\/strong>and Hans Abrahamsen.<\/strong>\n
\n
A passionate advocate for contemporary music, she has premiered and recorded numerous works written for her. She has performed with distinguished contemporary music ensembles including  MusikFabrik, Sch\u00f6nberg Ensemble, Asko Ensemble, Klangforum Wien<\/strong>, Curious Chamber Players<\/strong> and\n most recently Ensemble Intercontemporain.<\/strong>\n

With a deep affinity for the lower flutes, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne has commissioned and premiered internationally “<\/span>Innocent Mind and Mayday<\/em>\n  ” for alto flute and ensemble by <\/span>
Peter Bruun<\/strong>, as well as “<\/span>\n Flashnight”<\/em> for bass flute, electronic and ensemble by <\/span>Niels Rosing-Schow, <\/strong>\n also recorded at <\/span>Dacapo Records. <\/strong><\/p>\n

A prize-winner in several international competitions, she performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician, with engagements spanning from the United States to Japan and from Iceland to Lebanon. She has appeared as soloist with\n the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>, Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra<\/strong> , Caput<\/strong>,  \u00c5rhus Sinfonietta<\/strong>, and Athelas Sinfonietta.<\/strong>\n

H\u00e9l\u00e8ne has performed in numerous chamber music constellations and was member of the internationally acclaimed <\/span>woodwind quintet Carion<\/strong> for nearly a decade, before becoming a founding member of the Copenhagen-based woodwind quintet <\/span> Atlas CPH<\/strong>, <\/strong>where she is currently an active member.<\/span>\n

In addition to her solo and chamber music activity, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne is a regular guest with major orchestras including the Danish Royal Opera<\/strong> and Odense Symphony Orchestra. <\/strong>She has performed\n with renowned artists including  Barbara Hannigan<\/strong> and Emmanuel Pahud.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Remarkably, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne has held the<\/span> <\/span>\n French <\/span>Certificat d\u2019Aptitude<\/em> (CA) in pedagogy since the age of 18. This <\/span>\n prestigious <\/span>certification, <\/span>awarded by the French Ministry of Culture,<\/span>\n  is recognized as a mark of exceptional expertise and dedication to music education. She <\/span>currently teaches at H\u00f8rsholm Music School, and is <\/span>\n also formally qualified to teach at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (DKDM).<\/span>\n

H\u00e9l\u00e8ne is currently based in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
