Terrestre / Sombre / Aile du songe / solo & electronic works

About the project

A sustained engagement with the flute works of Kaija Saariaho through performance and interpretation.

Letter of support — Kaija Saariaho (Paris, 2016)
Hélène’s interpretations of my music were so sovereign and natural that it was difficult to believe she was playing it for the first time. I am happy to support her project, and hope she will find many occasions to perform my music — above all Aile du songe.
Excerpt — Kaija Saariaho correspondence
when she performed some of my central chamber music works with soloistic flute parts, such as Terrestre and Sombre, it seemed as if we would have known each other for a long time already.
